Benito Gonzalez

Benny Gonzalez of Universal City passed away on August 30, 2017 at the age of 53. He was born on August 13, 1964 in San Antonio to Avelino Martinez and Guadalupe (Villanueva) Gonzalez. Benny truly lived his life to the fullest through simple pleasures; spending time with family and friends, Bbq and fishing. Benny had many friends, he knew no stranger. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need whether it be family, friends or a stranger. He is survived by his wife Fely, daughter Beverly stepdaughters Jennifer Flores, Michelle Villanueva, Emily Villanueva and Jessica Barrera; 7 grandchildren; Brothers Avelino (Maryjane), Raymond (Maryalice), Johnny, Joe (Stephanie), Jesse ( Lydia), Robert (Iva); Sisters Maria O' Brien (Carlos), Emilia (Leandro), Rachel (Teddy). Numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents Avelino and Guadalupe Gonzales; brother Mike Gonzales and sister Angie Perez Briseno."A golden heart stopped beating, hard working hands to rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us he only takes the best." Visitation will be Monday, September 4, 2017 from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. at Colonial Funeral Home. The funeral procession will depart the funeral home on Tuesday, September 5, 2017 at 9:15 a.m. for a 10:00 a.m. Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Cemetery #2.
