Betty June Jones passed away peacefully in San Antonio, Texas, on February 15, 2018. She was 97 years old. Betty was born on July 15, 1920, the oldest of six children to Bessie and Hubert Cole, in Bethany Illinois. Her father was a dairy farmer and Betty raised 4H steers. After his retirement, Jim and Betty bought an Airstream trailer and spent summers fishing for salmon on the Georgia Strait in Vancouver, Canada. Eventually they moved to the Army Residence Community in San Antonio.
She is survived by sister, Carolyn Munroe, of Decatur, Illinois; son Ancil, of Swarthmore, Pennsylvania; daughter Barbara of Dallas, Texas; son Carlton, of Dallas, Texas; and three grandchildren. She will be sorely missed.
