Billy Ray LaRoque, age 88 passed away Saturday, December 28, 2013. He was born May 11, 1925 in Sidney, Texas to Clement and Pearl (Moore) LaRoque. Billy served as a Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Army during World War II. He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Mary Jo Scott. Survivors include his wife of 64 years Mary Jo LaRoque; son, Gary Ray LaRoque; daughter, Joyce Lyn Stender and her husband Chris; grandchildren, Matthew Stender and Natalie Stender; great grandchildren, Kayla Stender and Savannah Fields. Visitation will be Thursday, January 2, 2014 from 5:00 until 8:00 P.M. at Colonial Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Friday, January 3, 2014 at 10:00 A.M. at Rolling Oaks Christian Church, 7150 Stahl Road, San Antonio, Texas 78247. Interment will follow at Mission Retama Cemetery, 15940 Lookout Road, Selma, Texas, off Loop 1604.
