Catherine Jo Hester Mills, 89 of Universal City, Texas, beloved wife and mother passed away on January 11, 2018 in San Antonio, Texas. She was born in Athens, Texas and moved to San Antonio when she was 18 and attended Business College. After WWII, she joined the U.S. Civil Service and sailed to Tachikawa Airfield, Japan where she met and married the love of her life, Lt. Col. Charles F. Mills. Together they had five children and traveled the globe making life-long friendships while serving in the United States Air Force.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles F. and sons, Charles A. and Christopher Mills. She is survived by her daughters, Cavita Jo Mills Linehan, Caela Mills Shinkle (husband Steven), Catricia Mills, daughters-in-law Kristen Posey and Donna Mills, grandchildren, Madison Micaela Linehan, Luke and Ryan Shinkle (wife Ashley), and great grandson, Grover Shinkle.
Services will be held at Colonial Funeral Home in Universal City: Visitation Jan 29, 5-8pm with Rosary at 7pm. Funeral Services Jan 30, 11am and Interment at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery immediately following.
