

Chris is survived by his mother, Elizabeth Ann Tuckler and her husband Jorge A. Tuckler of San Antonio, TX; his father Christopher Madla, Sr. and his wife April M. Madla of New Braunfels, TX; his grandmother Ida Madla of New Braunfels, TX; Chris also leaves behind two beautiful daughters, Ava Faith Madla (age 16) and Arianna Grace Madla (age 12). Chris is also survived by his long-time girlfriend, Lorraine Pena and her young son, Nathan Thomas Pena (age 9) of San Antonio, TX. Chris had a large family in the San Antonio and New Braunfels area, so he leaves behind numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. He also leaves behind many friends that will miss him dearly.
Chris graduated from Winston Churchill High School in San Antonio in 2001. He then attended the University of Texas in Austin, TX. He was a competitive member of the UT rowing team and worked toward a degree in engineering. He began working for HEB in 1999 and held various positions within the company. He last worked as a center store manager and grocery manager at the downtown San Antonio location. He was a dedicated and loyal employee for HEB for many years. He loved the challenges and responsibilities that his position demanded. Chris had many close friends at HEB and considered each and every one of them as his family.
Chris was a man high integrity and unquestionable character. Above all, he set an excellent example of what it truly means to be a dedicated and loving father. Ava and Ari were the love of his life. Chris also adored and loved Nathan very much and treated Nathan as his own son. Ava, Ari and Nathan will miss him dearly.
A memorial service for Chris will be held on January 7, 2022, at Colonial Funeral Home in Universal City, TX. The viewing will begin at 10:00 am and the service will begin at 11:00 a.m. A celebration of life gathering will be held immediately following the service.
