Debbie was a bright, kind, and devoted soul whose life was defined by love for her family and friends. She found joy in the simple things — sharing meals together, watching movies, laughing over TV shows, and spending time with the people she cared about most. Her warmth and sense of humor made every gathering feel special.
Although Debbie was never married and had no children of her own, she was surrounded by a large and loving family. She is survived by her siblings Douglas Peck, James Peck, Joanne Peck, and Patty Peck, and was preceded in death by her sister Polly Peck. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews who adored her deeply and will cherish her memory forever.
Debbie moved to Texas in 1991, where she quickly fell in love with the state’s sunshine and friendly spirit. She worked in several restaurants throughout her life, serving as a cook, busser, and cashier — always giving 100% and brightening the day of everyone she worked with. Her favorite job was her most recent one at Bush’s Chicken, where she made lasting friendships and took pride in her hard work.
Debbie loved to travel, often journeying from Texas back to Iowa for family reunions. She enjoyed going on cruises, attending football and baseball games, and relaxing with her favorite cooking shows. She was also an avid gamer and loved spending time with her brother Douglas and her nephew Murphy, sharing laughter and making memories that will last a lifetime.
More than anything, Debbie loved her family. Whether it was Thanksgiving, Christmas, or just a Sunday afternoon, she was happiest when surrounded by loved ones — cooking, laughing, and enjoying each other’s company. Debbie’s heart was big, her smile unforgettable, and her presence a blessing to everyone who knew her.
May she rest peacefully, reunited with the loved ones who went before her, and may her light continue to shine in the hearts of all who loved her.
A memorial service in honor of Debbie will be held on November 2, 2025, at Colonial Funeral Home, 625 Kitty Hawk Road, Universal City, TX 78148.
