

Mr. Jenkins was born on April 14th, 1932 in Dayton, OH. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Dayton, OH. He served in the Ohio National Guard and Air Force Reserves, participating in the Korean Conflict and retiring after over twenty years of service. He worked as a Personnel Management Officer and negotiator with the federal government’s Defense Logistics Agency in Dayton, OH, Alexandria, VA, and Los Angeles, CA. He was the proud business owner of Clubhouse Golf Clubs for 15 years and was elected to the Banning City Council for seven years as Mayor Pro Tem in 1995.
Mr. Jenkins managed Little League Baseball in the 1960s in Washington, D.C., was a member of Beaumont-Cherry Valley Rotary Club (serving as president for one year), and a charter member of the Beaumont Police Department’s Citizen Patrol logging almost 10,000 service hours. He served on the Cherry Festival Association Board of Directors and was named an Honorary Associate after seventeen years of service. He was also a member of both the Sun Lakes “Happy Cookers” Club and Sun Lakes Art League. In addition, for four straight years he was the winner of the Sun Lakes Garden Club tours due to his specially designed Japanese garden. Bill enjoyed his time golfing, drawing, painting, gardening and traveling.
Mr. Jenkins was preceded in death by his loving wife of 59 years Eloise (Rose) and both parents. He is survived by his sons Terence Jenkins (Sandra), Charles Jenkins; brothers Ted Jenkins (Patty), Edward Jenkins (Sandy); three grandchildren, five great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and numerous international exchange students who became extended family to Bill and Eloise.
A Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday March 12, 2016 at 10am at Weaver Mortuary in Beaumont, CA. Internment will take place at Riverside National Cemetery in Riverside, CA.
