Dolores Vijil Vasquez

A visitation for Dolores will be held Sunday, October 22, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Colonial Funeral Home, 625 Kitty Hawk Road, Universal City, TX 78148. A rosary will occur Sunday, October 22, 2023 from 7:00 PM to 7:30 PM, 625 Kitty Hawk Road, Universal City, TX 78148. A mass will occur Monday, October 23, 2023 from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM at Church of the Good Shepherd, 1065 E. Live Oak Rd., Schertz, TX 78154. A graveside service will occur Monday, October 23, 2023 from 1:15 PM to 2:00 PM at Chapel Hill Memorial Park, 7735 Gibbs Sprawl Rd., San Antonio, TX 778239.

Dolores was born May 19, 1941 in Fort Stockton, Texas to Juan and Eloiza Vijil. On November 16,1963 she married Erasmo Vasquez. Dolores enjoyed being a homemaker and rasing her family. She was best known for her baking of birthday cakes to wedding cakes. Once retired, her favorite hobby was putting jigsaw puzzles together and spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Dolores is survived by her 4 daughters, Amalia "Millie" Mosqueda and husband Larry of Schertz, Tx., Mary Jane Silvas of San Antonio, Tx., Annette Vasquez of Cibolo, Tx., Wendy Dingle of Live Oak, Tx., and 1 son, Joe Benjamin Vasquez of San Antonio, Tx., 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. 5 sisters, Lupita Sanchez of Cibolo, Tx., Maria Pauls of Monahans, Tx., Aurora "Bori" Malachi of Converse, Tx., Andrea Spencer of New Braunfels, Tx. and Lori Ruiz of Lodi, CA., 4 brothers, Joe Vijil of Everman, Tx., Raul Vijil of Pasco, WA., Juan Diego Vijil of Cibolo, Tx., Crespin Vijil of Los Lunas, NM., and many nephews and nieces. Dolores was preceded in death by her husband Erasmo "Amo" and her 2 sons, Erasmo Jr. and Saul Vasquez, her parents Juan and Eloiza Vijil and her brothers Albaro Vijil, Porfirio Vijil, Oscar Vijil, sister Eudelia Jaquez and son-in-law Jason Dingle.
