

Douglas Farrington Sr.,61, affectionately known to family and friends as Doug, a devoted family man and an ardent lover of the great outdoors, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on July 5, 2024 in San Antonio, Tx.
Born on May 1, 1963 to Robert Lee and Ina Ray Farrington in Brierfield, Alabama, Doug’s life was marked by zeal and enthusiasm for his family, his friends, and all God had put in his heart. Doug was a light in every room and his smile never met a stranger. Known for his boundless love for hunting and fishing, Doug spent countless hours immersed in nature, sharing his passion with family and friends. Born a natural athlete, Doug excelled in every sport he played, particularly baseball, which birthed his lifelong loyalty to the New York Yankees.
He served his country until 1994, first in the United States Marine Corps then in the United States Air Force where he received an honorable discharge. He then went on to pursue a lengthy career with the United States Postal Service. In recent years, he discovered his passion and proficiency in woodworking, bringing tables, countertops, and other handmade works of art to life.
Doug's infectious laughter, warm heart, and unyielding generosity will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His legacy lives on through the countless memories he created and the lessons he imparted on others through love, faith, and self-lessness.
Doug is survived by his loving wife Kimberly Farrington, children Douglas Jr, Dehrik, and Yasmine (Clayton), grandchildren Marshawn, DyAnna, Avarus, Aniyah, and Aviana, mother Ina Ray Farrington, brother Kelvin Farrington, sister Sonja Farrington and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father Robert Farrington Sr, brother Robert Farrington Jr., and sister Evelyn “Tootsie” Farrington.
