

Edward “Lalo” proudly and honorably served in the United States Marine Corps. He was adventurous, spontaneous, caring, generous and compassionate. He loved to fish, camp, play baseball, dance, and travel. Edward also enjoyed watching western movies, taking pictures and baseball games. Edward worked in the food industry, auto industry and on construction sites. He worked as a telecommunication technician installing fiber optics cable throughout the United States and retired from retail in 2012 at the age of 63. Since then, he enjoyed his retired life with family, friends and traveling. Lalo enjoyed life and was a comedian and didn’t know it. He would talk to everyone he met for hours and was always teaching someone how to do “whatever”. Edward never failed to lend a helping hand and would give you the shirt off his own back.
Edward will be missed dearly for his humor, jokes, generosity, free spirit and compassion.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Jose and Hilaria Galvan; step mother, Victoria Galvan; brothers, Jose C. Galvan, Jr. and Mario Solorio.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 40 years, Ida Galvan (Nee Moreno); sons, Eric Moreno, Jason Moreno; 7 grandchildren, Christopher Moreno, Luis Landeros, Emelia Ramirez, Makayla Moreno, Sebastian Moreno, Dominic Moreno, Xavier Moreno; 2 great-grandchildren; brother, Eddie Solorio (Aurora); sisters, Thelma Pilkinton (Larry), Norma Manzano, Patricia Solorio; numerous nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to give special thanks to his medical team for the care given to him, family, friends and neighbors.
A visitation for Edward will be held from 5:00p.m.-8:00p.m. Thursday, January 9, 2025 with Holy Rosary to be recited at 6:30p.m. at Colonial Funeral Home, 625 Kitty Hawk Road, Universal City, TX 78148. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:00a.m. Friday, January 10, 2025 at St Monica Catholic Church, 501 North St, Converse, TX 78109. A committal service with Military Honors will be held Monday, January 13, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 10:20 AM at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, 1520 Harry Wurzbach Rd, San Antonio, TX 78209.
