Eldred M. Barker of Universal City passed away on January 9, 2011 at the age of 90. She was born to Lawson and Mosie (Reed) Marett on December 15, 1920 in Ocona South Carolina. She enjoyed playing bridge with friends and was a volunteer for the Disabled American Veterans. She is preceded in death by her husband Lt. Col. George C. Barker, USAF, Ret. She is survived by her children, George Barker Jr. (wife Judy), Donna Gravett (husband Harry) Michael Barker (wife Melanie), and Darrel Barker (wife Karen); brothers, Harry Marett and Rayford Marett; sisters, Billie Howard, Glenda Hicks, and Gloria Ferguson, grandchildren, Brent Gravett, Charles, Scott, Ashley, Amanda, Austin , Heather, Kristin and Jonathan Barker; 11great grandchildren. A visitation will be held from 5:00 until 9:00 P.M. on Thursday January 13 with a funeral service being held at 9:15 A.M. on Friday January 14 at Colonial Funeral Home.
