

Francelle Rice Lambertson peacefully departed this world on April 16, 2026, at the age of 100. Born to William and Beulah Rice on January 26, 1926, in Okemah, Oklahoma, Francelle was a longtime resident at the Army Residence Community in San Antonio, Texas.
Francelle grew up in Oklahoma during the Great Depression. She studied art at the University of Oklahoma during World War II, where she met her future husband and life partner, a US Navy ROTC student. During the 50s and 60s, she and her Navy family moved between Pearl Harbor, HI; Monterey, CA; San Diego, CA; Coronado, CA; New London, CT; San Antonio, TX; Corpus Christi, TX; and Port Aransas, TX.
Wherever stationed, Francelle was active in the local church, singing in the choir and arranging the altar. She was a consummate homemaker and the aroma of homemade cookies and cornbread filled the air. She made artistic quilts and paintings. She loved Broadway musicals, especially South Pacific and Oklahoma. Francelle was a caring person who put her family first. She was sympathetic to those in need and gave generously to charities.
Francelle is preceded in death by her lifelong loving husband Tomme Joe Lambertson, LCDR USN retired.
Francelle is survived by her son Keith Thomas Lambertson, her daughter Barbara Ann Scott, and her granddaughter Molly Clare Scott.
