Gerald Lee Haley was born in Frankfurt Germany on May 11, 1962. In Gerald’s own words, he was an elite democratic field canvasser, lifelong Los Angeles Rams fan and political activist. Gerald grew up as an army brat along with 3 siblings and found himself in many different places in his younger years including Germany where he was born, Georgia, Washington, California and finally in Texas. In his school days he was involved in drama clubs and enjoyed performing on stage.
His love of politics would become his passion in later life. He was a tireless canvasser and campaigner for many different candidates through the years and was pursuing that very thing in the end. During his political journey Gerald was a fellow at Battleground Texas and (OFA) Organizing for Action a non profit, and was involved with many other campaigns where his primary focus was to help voters to register for upcoming elections.
Gerald was a super passionate gridiron football fan and his Sundays were a complete spiritual experience for him watching his beloved Los Angeles Rams.
Gerald dabbled in the world of art and created a series of oil paintings including Texas landscapes and a few wild animals. He authored 2 online suspense thriller books (Vixen and Twisted Secrets) which mirrored the type of movies he enjoyed watching. He describes the books as edgy and suspenseful.
Gerald was a good and passionate person with a unique inner fire that burned brightly. He had a genuine love of life despite the many obstacles he had to overcome.
"In the end its not the years in your life that count, it’s the life in your years.” Abraham Lincoln
Gerald is survived by his parents Robert and Hedwig, his brothers Tony and Michael and sister Karin.
