Once Harvey graduated from high school in 1961 he went into the United States Marine Corp. and served there until 1965. After being discharged from the Marines, he had held a variety of jobs; cement and paint chemist, a bartender, and worked for various trucking companies. He later went over to road trucking and was known by the handle as “Rookie.”
He enjoyed watching his grandchildren and great grandchildren play. He liked to barbeque for his family and friends. In his younger days, he would visit bars, play pool and have a drink or two. He would always talk about vehicles and would work on them with his son or whomever needed help with theirs. He lived life and lived it to the fullest!
He is survived by his wife of 57 beautiful years, Barbara L. Ward; his son, Anthony G. Ward and his wife Crystal Ward; his daughter, Melanie L. Schwarts; his brother, Fred; his grandchildren, Krista, Cary, Christopher, Kayla, Brandon, Leland, and Erin Ray; his great grandchildren, Madison, Raydon, Weston, Ayden, Tessa, Waylon, Elijah, Marshall, Charlie, Raven, and Davidson; and numerous nieces and nephews whom all reside in Minnesota. Harvey is preceded in death by his parents, Douglas L. Ward and Alberta Ward, and 2 sisters.
The Ward family would like to extend a very special thank you to Heart to Heart Hospice for the wonderful care that was given to Harvey and to Chaplin Martinez who was a great moral support. Also to everyone who prayed for him. We are very grateful for everyone.
