Chief Master Sergeant James Steven Carter, United States Air Force (Retired), passed away on 10 November 2021, at the age of 77. He was born on April 9, 1944, in Salisbury, North Carolina, to Paul and Janice (Smith) Carter. Steve was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother, Michael Eugene Carter. He is Survived by his wife of 20 years, Brenda Kay (Galleher) Carter; son, Samuel Jeffery Carter and his wife Ronda; daughter, Stephanie Jan (Carter) Holden and her husband, Alan; son James Steven Carter Jr.; daughter, Amy Marie Stewart; stepson, Randal Edward White and his wife Erin; brother, Charles Edison Carter and his wife Laverne; grandchildren, Alex, Sydney, Lexie, Ronan, Lucia, and Sam.
A graveside service for James will be held Tuesday, December 7, 2021 from 2:15 PM to 2:45 PM at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, 1520 Harry Wurzbach Rd., San Antonio, TX 78209.
