Margaret Rose Ziadie DeStefano was born October 9, 1938 and lived in New Jersey for most of her life. She married Anthony J. DeStefano on June, 5 1966. She loved gardening and maintained a large garden when living in East Hanover, N.J., producing many varieties of fruits and vegetables. She shared her passion for gardening as a member of the Live Oak Garden Club. She was an excellent cook and was especially known for her Italian meatballs. Family was very important to her and she always gave a lending hand to family and friends. Whether needing a place to stay, money for bills, food or other, she was always there. She had a “heart of gold” and was such a giving person. Her daughter, Danielle, gave birth to a son, Shane Anthony DeStefano on March 28, 2003, who went to live in San Antonio, Texas in 2005. Marge and Tony moved to Texas in 2007 to be near their grandson whom they dearly loved. Shane loved being with his “Mom-Mom” and “Papa.” Marge worked at Sally’s Beauty Supplies for over 15 years after being a cosmetologist/beautician for over 40 years.
Margaret is preceded in death by her husband, Anthony J. DeStefano, her mother, Iris Ziadie, and sister, Barbara Ziadie. She is survived by her sisters, Isis Z. Thiel and Charmaine A. Connolly; her brothers, Rudolph Ziadie, Raymond Ziadie, and Richard Ziadie; her daughter, Danielle DeStefano; grandson, Shane A. DeStefano and granddaughter, Trinity; nieces: Charlene, Alicia, Haley, Julia, and Rhea; nephews: Bobby, Michael, Billy, Shawn, Brian, Eric, Chaise, Austin, Parker, Christian, and Hayden. She leaves behind many close friends and family who still reside in New Jersey. She had a strong spirit and never gave up her fight against cancer when diagnosed almost 3½ years ago. She will be dearly missed by many but will always be remembered because she was loved by so many. We all have so many different, wonderful, memories that we cherish. She may be gone, but not forgotten. Rest in peace, Marge.
