

Mary Beth Crawford, born June 19, 1962, in Jacksonville, IL the daughter of James and Cecelia Crawford passed to her reward on January 7, 2018, in Converse, Texas. Her sister, Patricia Moore, nieces Samantha Moore and Amanda (Moore) Lee, and a few close family friends were with her as she was called to our heavenly Father. Mary attended Franklin Community District #1 schools, graduating from Franklin High School in 1982.
Mary came to Waverly, IL on October 27, 1974, to live with her Aunt Lois and Uncle Raymond Pitchford, where she stayed until August of 2017, when she moved to Texas to reside with her sister.
She is survived by her sister Patricia Moore and younger brother Jim Crawford of Los Angeles CA, her Aunt Lois & Uncle Raymond Pitchford, her cousins with whom she grew up with, JoAnne Lammert, Janet Miller, Dick Pitchford, Diane Decker, Karen Wallbaum and numerous nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews. Mary is preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers, Mike and Phillip Crawford.
Mary’s life’s work was providing care and compassion for others. She had numerous children whom she loved and cared for over the years. She worked in various Nursing Care institutions including Passavant Hospital in Jacksonville, IL where she is remembered for her cookie baking, St John’s Hospital in Springfield, IL, Jacksonville Skills Assisted Living in Jacksonville, IL and she provided in home care with Home Instead Senior Care Services in IL.
There are no words to express the deep sorrow in the hearts of those that knew Mary. She was one of the most caring, compassionate and giving individuals you could ever imagine.
Memorial service has been changed to Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at the Colonial Funeral Home, 625 Kitty Hawk Road, Universal City, TX 78148. Visitation will be at 5:30 pm with services to begin at 6:30 pm. Flowers may be sent to the Colonial Funeral Home or in lieu of flowers a donation in Mary’s name may be made to the American Heart Association, Alzheimer’s Association (IL), or the St Jude Children’s Hospital.
Services will be held at a later date at Sacred Heart Church, in Franklin, IL.
