

M/Sgt. Paul “P.C.” Webb, United States Air Force (Retired), passed away on November 4, 2013, at the age of 74. He was born on January 10, 1939, in Syracuse, New York, to Charles and Dorotha (Carr) Webb. Paul was preceded in death by his parents, and his sister, Mary (Webb) Mathes. He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Verna (Schouten) Webb; son, Charles Webb, husband Ilan Guedj; daughter, Laura (Webb) Carvalho, husband Alex; grandchildren, Michael, William and Katherine; sister, Tina (Webb) Welch, husband Marvin, and their children: Shaun, Kelly, Jaman and Megan. He served 20 years on active duty, which first brought him to San Antonio in 1956. After his transfer to Wiesbaden, Germany, in 1961, he met and later married Verna, and together, they had assignments in California, Virginia, and Texas, before settling in San Antonio for good. After his retirement from active duty, he continued to serve the Department of the Air Force as a civil servant for another 18 years. He and Verna stayed busy in their retirement, spending time with their children and grandchildren, and visiting their many Air Force friends, nearly making it the longest phase of his career. A funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 AM, Thursday, November 14, 2013, at St. Monica’s Catholic Church (501 North St., Converse, Texas). Graveside service and interment will follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery at 2:00 P.M., with military honors.
