five children, passed away at the age of 69.
Robert was born on February 2, 1951, in San Antonio, TX. He graduated in 1970
from Fox Tech H.S. where he played football. He spent his undergraduate years
at San Antonio College and received an Associate of Arts degree. Robert
earned a Bachelor’s degree from Trinity University, a Master of Education from
UTSA and a Master’s in Education Administration from Texas State University.
Mr. Sifuentes taught Social Studies at Randolph High School for 14 years where
he earned his school nickname “Mr. Sif.” He mentored student-teachers there as
part of preparing himself for an administrative role. He also taught summer
school for Northeast ISD for six years. In 1989, Mr. Sifuentes expanded his career
in public school Administration with Harlandale ISD. He was Vice-Principal at
Harlandale High School, McCollum High School, Jewel C. Wietzel Center and
Harlandale Middle School. Mr. Sifuentes retired in 2014 after serving the
educational community for 39 years. He was a talented and committed
educator, mentor and friend who touched the lives of so many. He will be
greatly missed by everyone in the Harlandale School District community.
Robert is survived by his loving wife, Norma, of 43 years and his five children,
Sandra, Robert III, Jennifer, Matthew and Melanie. He leaves behind six beautiful
grandchildren - Anthony, Tristan, Savannah, Isabella, Ethan & Chloe; also
surviving are his three brothers, one sister and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Mr. & Mrs. Robert Sifuentes, Sr. and
brothers, Larry & Randy.
Funeral services will be held at Colonial Funeral Home, 625 Kitty Hawk Rd. in
Universal City, TX. Visitation and viewing will take place on Friday, August 7th from
5:00 pm – 9:00 pm with a Rosary service / celebration of life starting at 7:00 pm. Crematory
services will take place thereafter with the immediate family.
