Robert Donald Yelenic

Robert Donald Yelenic passed away in San Antonio on March 11, 2016 at the age of 86. He was born in Rankin, Pennsylvania to John Matt Yelenic and Julia (Sebleski) Yelenic Majernik. He had twenty one years of combined military service in the U.S. Army and U.S. Air Force. While serving in the military he was awarded the Air Force Good Conduct Medal with one bronze oak leaf cluster, Vietnam Service Medal and the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal. He then attained a teaching degree and taught at the Defense Language Institute at Lackland Air Force Base for eight years. Robert was also a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW). Robert was a man who love practical jokes and loved playing a joke on unsuspecting family members. He married Nancy Hughes in 1974, Robert brought together two families. Robert was surrounded by all eight of his children upon passing. He is survived by his loving wife Nancy; children Robert J. Yelenic, Augusta, Georgia, Judith L. Yelenic-Ray (husband Randall L.), Copperas Cove, Texas, Kenneth K. Yelenic (wife Lillian R.), Brenham, Texas, Robert E. Spence, San Antonio, Texas, Nancy E. Chadwick (husband Dennis R.), Charlotte, North Carolina, Steven M. Yelenic, Parma Heights, Ohio, Lori A. Smith-Hemming (husband Joey), San Antonio, Texas, Lari R. Bender, San Antonio, Texas; sister Shirley Farrell of Washinton State; grandchildren Jennifer Rocha, Robert J. Ray, William Ray, Steven K. Yelenic, Kyle M Yelenic, Jonathan W. Yelenic, Jacob R. Bender, Bernadette A. Hoppler, Joshua D. Smith, Christopher D. Rothkoph , Robert J. Johnson, Erika Farney, Cara D. Yelenic , Karl K. Yelenic , Kristina Smith, Brian J. Yelenic, Brandon M. Yelenic; great grandchildren Devon Ray, Hunter Ray, Aidein Yelenic, Julie Ann Hoppler, Isabella Rose Hoppler, Lorelei Hoppler, Jonavan Smith, Aaliegh Smith, Adrian Garcia, Ethan Rocha, and Gavin Rocha.
