Roberto & Emelia Santos

Roberto was born 1932 in Elgin, Texas and Emelia in 1934 in neighboring Taylor, Texas. They joined together in matrimony in April 1956.

They are preceded in death by their parents Uvaldino and Irene Santos and Hipolito and Matilda Zavala, Roberto’s brother: Isidro Santos, and sisters: Irene Santos and Pauline Galindo, Emelia’s brothers: Jose, Manuel, Ysebel, David, and Paul Zavala and sister: Consuelo Robedo, and their son Armando Santos.

They are survived by Roberto’s brothers: Uvaldino Santos Jr. and David Santos (Lupe), Emelia’s sister: Sylvia Marciel and their children, Roberto Santos Jr. (Martha), Teresa Santos, David Santos, Christina Santos, and Daniel Santos. Grandchildren: Reynaldo Santos (Winday), Derek Santos, Roberto Santos III, Chuck Salas, Candy Salas, Jared Ward (Ashley), Julia Santos, and Chloe Ferrin. Great-grandchildren: Jacob and Daniel Aleman, Ashton and Brayden Salas, Serenity, Sebastian, and Serinah Cooper, Melody Ward and Carmine Alexander as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Roberto retired from the air force in 1955, after which he worked for the Army Audit Agency where he retired after 33 years of service. Emelia was a loving homemaker whose main focus was faith and family. She was a Guadalupana and served on the Alter Society at various churches throughout her adult life.

Roberto and Emelia, faithfully married 65 years, were family oriented and strong in their faith. They will be missed by family and friends alike.

A visitation will be held Tuesday September 14, 2021 at 5pm with a Rosary at 7pm at Colonial Funeral Home, 625 Kitty Hawk Rd. Universal City, Texas 78148.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday September 15, 2021 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 16075 N Evans Rd. Selma, Texas 78154. Mass will begin at 11am followed by Interment at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, please wear a mask at public gatherings and get vaccinated.
