Rush Suggs

Rush Eugene “Gene” Suggs of San Antonio, Texas passed away at the age of 83 on Saturday, June 4, 2016. Gene graduated from Rosebud High School; served in the U.S. Army and later became a salesman and business owner in San Antonio.

Gene was born in Falls County, Texas on August 23, 1932 to Frank and Mary Suggs. He is preceded in death by both parents, two brothers--Jack and Jimmie; stepson, Simon Salinas; son-in-law George Garcia, Sr; niece, Kay Duplais and nephew, Jack Suggs.

He is survived by his loving and adoring wife of 47 years, Gloria, his son Johnnie and wife Cathy; and daughter, Anna S. Garcia. He was also the proud Grandfather to George & Jonathon Garcia, Shawna Wright and Shelly Evans; great grandchildren--Chase and Caleb Wright, Emmah, Westin and Kaytlyn Mortimer, and Eden McKenzie; great-great grandchild Addison Wright. He is also survived by his dear and close cousin Billy Gray Jones and his wife Cordelia, as well as other numerous nieces and nephews. Graveside services and interment will be Friday, June 17, 2016 at 115 p.m. at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
