She was the younger of two daughters of Norman and Elinor (Kettle) Pyle also of Kenton, OH. Sara passed peacefully into the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on November 20, 2025, just two weeks short of her 77th birthday.
She was preceded in death by her parents Norman B Pyle, & Elinor (Kettle) Pyle.
She is survived by her beloved sister, Susie Wolf (Rex) of the Washington, DC area, her two nieces, Sara and Catie (Chris) Murphy, and her beloved husband, Nacho Pecina of Universal City, TX., Brother in law Marshall Pecina (Lorraine), sisters in law Amy Simental, Fran (Roy) Daniels, Preceded by death brother in law Donaciano (Estelle) Pecina, survived by nieces & nephews, David Pecina, Marcia Pecina (Gary), Monetta (Bill) McClellan, Mario Pecina, Max (Jessica) Pecina, Marissa Pecina, Paul Hernandez, Nina (Josh) Ramos, and Elsie (Abraham) Rodriguez.
Sara was a busy teenager. Among her many skills, talents, and activities were ballet recitals, choir, band, lead in the high school musical (“The Boyfriend”), Y-Teens, sophomore class vice-president, freshman cheerleader, high school majorette, pep club, prom committee, and homecoming queen. Her friends, guys and girls, spent lots of time in her family’s dining room with the new stereo listening, singing, and dancing to the tunes of the day. Laughter and fun filled those times, and close friendships have remained steadfast through the years. Growing up in Kenton, Ohio was the foundation for Sara’s life.
She married Nacho Pecina on December 19, 1975 and together they served Christ in ministry, first in Kansas City, Missouri, also in Washington D.C., and then in Miami, FL where they helped plant a new church and remained for more than thirteen years. Sara played an integral role in the formation and growth of the Miami church, singing on the worship team, teaching children, hosting small groups, opening her home for events, writing for the church, and caring for many people in need. Sara also developed a new career in Miami as she mastered the craft of realty.
In the late 1990s, Sara and Nacho moved to San Antonio, TX to serve in Grace Community Church. Nacho was one of the recognized pastors, but Sara was the heart and soul of ministry whether she was serving as the women’s ministry leader, working with children, or being part of the worship team. Just as in Kansas City and Miami, Sara touched the lives of everyone she encountered with her smile, her friendship, her example of walking by faith, and her amazing creative abilities to write and direct plays that entertained and edified the church.
In her life, she was a beloved daughter, sister, wife, “favorite aunt,” friend, beloved sister in Christ, and most of all a child of the King of kings and Lord of lords whom she loved with all her heart. She is greatly missed. The hearts of those who knew here are filled with sorrow and weeping. Yet, the sorrow and weeping is not in despair. She is safe in the presence of God, rejoicing, getting reacquainted with loved ones who preceded her in glory, and waiting for us to join her at the Great Reunion to which we all look forward.
A memorial service to “Celebrate Sara’s Life” will be held, December 6, 2025, 11am, at Grace Community Church – 701 Kitty Hawk Road in Universal City, TX.
Reception following the service.
In lieu of flowers, because of Sara’s love for kids, the family requests that donations be made to Grace Community Church “Youth Ministries”.
