LTC. Virgil N. Cordero Jr., U.S. Army, Retired died on Friday February 24, 2012 at the age of 90. Virgil was born on May 13, 1921 in San Antonio, Texas to Virgil N. Cordero Sr. and Amparo Cordero. He is survived by his loving wife of 71 years, Kirby J. Cordero; sons, Virgil N. Cordero III (wife Chuan-Hui) and Keith M. Cordero; grandchildren, Jennifer Cordero Magner (husband Mike), Kimberly Cordero Reisinger (husband David), Christopher N. Cordero, Keith M. Cordero Jr., and Joyce Cordero, and 9 great grandchildren. A memorial mass will be held on Tuesday, March 6, 2012 at 10:00 A.M. at the Army Residence Community Chapel. Graveside services and interment will follow at 1:30 P.M. at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery with full military honors.
