Born in Streetman, Texas, to Wilford Carroll and Pearlie Mae Miles, Wilford lived a life marked by service, loyalty, and steadfast love for his family and community.
He proudly served in the United States Air Force dedicating 26 years, including his final duty station as part of US Southern Command in the Panama Canal. He served his country with honor and distinction. After retirement, he proudly worked for Diversified Technology & Services of Virginia, Inc., and the San Antonio Area Council of Girls Scouts, Inc.
Beyond his career, Wilford’s greatest legacy was his family. He was the proud father of Larry, Wilford Jr., Michael, Carolyn, Stephanie, Michelle, and Dana; and a father figure to many others, guiding with patience, humor, and unwavering love. After the untimely passing of his beloved wife Munyin (Eneida), Wilford devoted himself to raising his young daughters Stephanie and Michelle as a single father—instilling in them strength, compassion, and resilience.
Wilford was preceded in death by his parents Wilford Carroll and Pearlie Mae Miles, his children Michael and Carolyn, and his brother O.D. Carroll. He is survived by his sister Anne Thompson of Dallas, Texas, sister-in-laws Dorothy Munoz of Panama, Rep. of Panama, Lydia Lynch of St. Louis, Missouri, Valeria Bell of San Antonio, Texas, brother-in-laws Cecilio Lindo, of Florida & Rogelio Bell of San Antonio, Texas, his children, grandchildren, a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will forever cherish his memory.
Known for his impeccable style, Wilford was rarely seen without a tailored suit, polished shoes, and his trademark sharp pant crease. His attention to detail extended beyond his wardrobe; it reflected the pride and care he took in every aspect of his life. A lover of blues and barbecue, he had a way of making everyone feel welcome, whether you were family, a friend, or just someone lucky enough to share a plate of ribs with him.
In his youth, C.C. was an avid basketball player, and his passion for the game never faded. He followed the NBA, WNBA, and NCAA women’s basketball with unmatched enthusiasm—often watching classic games as if they were live. In recent years, he proudly called himself a “super fan” of WNBA star A’ja Wilson, admiring her strength, grace, and leadership—qualities he championed in all the women in his life.
