Petty Officer First Class, William “Bill” Russell Hollar, U.S. Navy, Retired passed away November 5, 2011 at the age of 69. He was born June 23, 1942 in Washington, D.C. to Marvin Lee and Virginia (Gardell) Hollar. He is preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Donald Lee Hollar. Survivors include his wife of 46 years Evelyn Hollar; daughter, Donna Lee May and husband Jeffrey; son, Russell W. Hollar and wife Wendy; 8 grandchildren; brother, Charles Hollar and wife Marie; sisters, Margaret Henghold and Joy Ann Howell. A visitation will be held Sunday, November 13, 2011 from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. and funeral services will be held Monday, November 14, 2011 at 9:30 A.M. at Colonial Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery with full military honors.
