

William (Bill) I. Hogan went to be with our Lord and Savior on April 10th, 2016 at the age of 87. He was born in Woodward, Texas to Charles Andrew and Mary Matilda Hogan. As the son of an itinerant Methodist preacher his family moved around South Texas during his child hood. After graduating from high school he then entered the US Army where he proudly served his country during the Korean War. After serving in the military he returned home to Texas where he acquired his Bachelor degree in Education from Southwest Texas State University. Soon after he started teaching in Harlendale Independent School District he met a cute little beauty operator named June Day. After a fishing trip with her family he was hooked and six months later they were married. He soon got his master’s in education. He taught in the Randolph Field ISD followed by a Business Manager position in the Fort Sam Houston ISD. He finished out his career in education as Superintendent of Schools in Poteet ISD. He was a member of Park Hills for 38 years where he exercised his passion of teaching God’s Word in Sunday School. For the past year he has attended Anchor Baptist Church in Windcrest. He was preceded in death by his parents and granddaughter Stephanie Brister. Survivors include his loving wife of 62 years June Hogan; son Corky Hogan (Tracy); daughters Debbie Brister (Gary) and Cindy Spraggins (Dennis); grandsons Michael Hogan, Andrew Spraggins (Elisabeth), and Kevin and Jason Brister; granddaughters Sarah Hogan, Erin Gellos (Jared) and Bethany Spraggins. Visitation will be on Thursday, April 14, 2016 at Colonial Funeral Home from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. A funeral service will take place on Friday, April 15, 2016 at 1:00 P.M. with interment to follow at Sunset Memorial Park on Austin Highway.
