Beloved husband, father, grandfather, William Bain Murray, U.S. Army Colonel (retired), passed away November 16, 2015, at the age of 96. Born in Harvard, Illinois, he lived in Laguna Beach, California, before starting his military career. In 1959 he graduated with a BS from his beloved UCLA. He served in the Pacific theater during World War II and retired from the Army in 1972. His love for research and numismatics resulted in a second career authoring a monthly magazine article for many years on coin collecting. His last article was submitted on his 90th birthday. He is survived by his wife, Jeanne Hershey Murray; son Bill and daughter-in-law Charlotte Murray; daughter Mary and son-in-law Ed Shugert; daughter Donna Covey; granddaughters Chelsea and Meagan; grandson Miles; and various nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Wednesday, November 25, 2015 from 11:00 – 12:30 p.m. in the Colonial Funeral Home Chapel. The funeral service will follow. Interment with military honors will be at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
