T/Sgt. William M. Thurston, Jr. U.S. Air Force (Retired) of Universal City passed away on December 15, 2010. He was born on June 10, 1929 at Murfreesboro, Tennessee to William M. and Frances (Williams) Thurston Sr. He was a member of American Legion Post 667 in Universal City and a lifetime member of the V.F.W. He is preceded in death by his parents and wife Peggy Patterson Thurston. Survivors include his sons, William M. Thurston, III, Gregory Thurston and wife Cheryl; daughter, Kaye Campbell and husband Robert; grandchildren, Rebecca Thurston and Nicole Miller and husband Shawn; great grandchildren, Seth Miller and Macey Miller. Graveside services and interment will be Tuesday, December 21, 2010 at 9:30 A.M. at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery with full military honors. A reception will be held at American Legion Post 667, 504 Bowie, Universal City, TX 78148 following the graveside services.
