Alton N. Edwards, Sr.,78, a native of Chesapeake Beach, passed away December 7, 2012 with his family at his side. His beautiful wife of 42 years, Louise, preceded him in death in 2003. A humble, gracious man with a warm, friendly smile, he will be remembered for too many reasons to list. Main among them was the type of son, brother, husband, father and grandfather he was. He will be sorely missed for his gentle demeanor and his way with people. A fantastic, talented craftsman he was also a lifelong Mason with Naomi Lodge 87.
Mr. Edwards is survived by his son, Alton Edwards, Jr.; daughters, Traci Tuell and husband Jeffrey and grandson Chase, Christel Edwards and Sabrina Babb all of Virginia Beach. The family wishes to thank the many wonderful, caring people who helped take care of their father at Virginia Beach General Hospital in his last days.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 11, 2012 from 1 – 2:00 PM in Rosewood Kellum Funeral Home in Virginia Beach. A funeral service will follow the visitation at 2:00 PM in the funeral home with Pastor Tommy Taylor officiating.
