Reverend Anna Gimenez was 87 years old and was a resident of Virginia Beach for over 45 years. She was born on February 5, 1934 to the late John Gimenez and Estrella Casiano in New York City, New York and went home to be with her Lord and her family on January 6, 2022. She was a member of the Rock Church of Virginia Beach and her heart was in service to the church. She helped start two homes for women and smuggled bibles into China. She had a love for counseling and helping others. She was always up for any party and at any family event, you could find her on the dance floor.
She is survived by her three children, Debra Ferrigno(her partner David) Mark (Gina) Figueroa and Jerry (Wanda) Figueroa. She is preceded by one grandchild, Mark Figueroa Jr. and is survived by eight grandchildren, Nicole (Darren) Patrick, Jason Cook, Amanda (Derek) Christianson, James (Shelby) Figueroa, Andrew Figueroa, Michael Ferrigno, Dennis Ferrigno Jr., and Charles Figueroa. She is survived by ten great-grandchildren. She was preceded by four siblings, Louis Gimenez, Sara (Thomas) Dunlea, Emily (Frankie) Figueroa, Bishop John (Anne) Gimenez and is survived by two of her sibling David (Jennie) Gimenez Sr. and Miriam “Dina”(Eugene) Alphonse. Her heart foremost was for her Savior Jesus Christ.
In remembrance of Rev. Gimenez, viewing services will be held on Wednesday, January 12, 2022 at Rosewood-Kellum Funeral Home at 601 N Witchduck Rd. Virginia Beach, VA 23462. The family will meet privately from 4:00PM - 5:00PM and will receive guests from 5:00PM - 8:00PM.
A celebration of her life will be held on Thursday, January 13, 2022 at her long time home church and place of ministerial service Rock Church, at 640 Kempsville Rd. Virginia Beach, VA 23464 at 2:00PM. Graveside services will be held immediately following the celebration of life at Rosewood-Kellum Memorial Park, adjoining the funeral home.
Rev. Anna requested a celebration of her graduation from her earthly life. Although not required, we invite you to wear colorful attire of your choosing. If you need inspiration, red was her favorite color.
