I am so sorry to hear about Bernadette's passing.  Bernadette worked for me at the law firm of Inman & Strickler for several years.  She was far more than just a good worker, she was also a friend.  I remember when my daughter was at Cox HS, she worked one summer at the law firm doing some filing.  She got to know most of the staff.  When she was a senior, she was in a school musical.   Bernadette brought her young daughter to see the show.  As her daughter got older, Bernadette would send me an email telling me how she was doing in school and sometimes she would drop by the office and give me a picture.

After I retired, Bernadette would often call me up and ask for advice.  Sadly, I hadn't talked with her in several years, but I know she was proud of her family.

I will miss her.

     I am so sorry for your loss! Sending you prayers and condolences. She was a very good friend of mine. We lost contact for a time for various reasons as I had health issues. Bernadette was a kind, loving, compassionate, and thoughtful person. She was very hard working. I know that she was a good friend to many as she was always there to help when needed. She was a devout Catholic and she loved the Virgin Mary. She gave my daughter an image of the Virgin Mary before she left for college and encouraged her to always pray.
       I pray to the Lord to give your family strength as you are going through this difficult time. I mourn the loss of my friend… a really good person.

My heart goes out to the Roque family, I think back to the times when I was at the house every other day, as if I was part of the family. She always did her best to guide us in the right direction, and to invest in ourselves for the future. As tough as she could be, she was truly a blessing in disguise, and I don’t think we will ever forget the impact she had on our lives.

Bernardita was such a kind person. I came home from college with Sam for a Sunday meal and that was that. I was immediately welcomed in, invited next week and became an addition. She always made sure I had some where to go for the holidays and had regular home cooked meals. Her love for her family is her legacy.  I will forever cherish her kindness and love. Sometimes you meet a person, and you just click — you’re comfortable with them, like you’ve known them your whole life, and you don’t have to pretend to be anyone or anything

Lola, or Lola #1 as she was affectionately known by her 4 granddaughters, was a force to be reckoned with. A God-fearing, active, kind, and passionate woman who would give you the shirt off her back and move mountains to provide opportunities and care to those in need. She was a wonderful mother in law and so proud of her kids and grandkids. She loved going on adventures to new places all over the world (I admired this about her) and was lucky enough to do so with her best friend, Tita Del (her sister). Anyone who crossed paths with her should count themselves blessed. I will miss our family trips, her patience, love and unique bond with each of my girls, and her unwavering love at every stage of our lives. She will be sorely missed- our family dynamic will truly never be the same. I could not be more proud to have been her daughter-in-law and I could not be more proud of how well she raised her kids (Victor, Samantha, and Oliver).  They have already stepped up to support and take care if each other and family without pause. They had a wonderful example of strength, responsibility, and resilience in their mom, and together, we will endeavor live life to the fullest just like she did.
