Brigette Lorraine Oden, 26, passed away unexpectedly in Virginia Beach, Virginia on July 16, 2022. Brigette was born on February 14, 1996, in Manassas, Virginia. A beloved daughter, sister, niece, aunt, and friend, Brigette’s light burned radiantly, illuminating the lives of those around her. Her beauty, strength, resilience, kindness, and compassion touched the hearts of many. Always striving to achieve, Brigette surpassed every goal she set, and her achievements were many. She completed a multidisciplinary undergraduate degree from West Virginia University in Morgantown, and a graduate degree in legal studies from Regent University in Virginia Beach. Brigette served her country as a paralegal specialist, obtaining the rank of Staff Sergeant in the West Virginia Army National Guard. She began her full-time career at Camp Dawson, West Virginia and completed multiple tours at the National Guard Bureau in Arlington, Virginia. She was a decorated U.S. Army Veteran, having deployed in support of Operation Inherent Resolve. Passionate about service for her country and her community, Brigette became a certified Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) for Children, a community-based program that supports citizen-volunteers to advocate for the best interests of abused and neglected children. In keeping with her life of service, Brigette had recently accepted a senior civil servant position with the Department of the Navy. Brigette built a beautiful life in Virginia Beach and spent many days on the beach at sunrise and sunset. She loved to surround herself with family and friends and looked forward to starting a family of her own. She is survived by everyone in her immediate loving family, including her mother, Laurie Jo Oden; step-father, Johnny Jett; father, Hillary Oden Jr; Aunt, Cathy Trimarchi; Uncle, Gary Samson; siblings, Michael Daily, Amy Oden, Mark Daily, Hillary Oden III, and Lawrence Oden (Ashley); adoring nephews and nieces, Benjamin Fagan, Andrew West, Audrey Oden, Alivia Oden, Thomas Daily, and Astrid Oden as well as the love of her life and significant other, Jeffrey Moss; and countless beloved extended family and friends. She is preceded in death by her grandfathers, Joseph Trimarchi and Hillary Oden Sr. Family will receive friends on Saturday, August 6 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Rosewood-Kellum Funeral Home, 601 N Witchduck Rd, Virginia Beach, VA 23462 Virginia Beach. A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday August 7 at 3 p.m., at Grace Bible Church, Lynnhaven Campus, 2956 Ansol Lane, Virginia Beach, Virginia 23452.
