Carol Sybil Lantz

Virginia Beach - Carol Sybil Lantz (Walker), 87, passed away peacefully on Mon., Jan. 8, 2018 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help. Carol was born on Dec. 25, 1930 in Mississippi to Majy O. and Eva E. Walker. She was passionate about the care and well being of the community by being a Girl Scout leader, a secretary for the Navy, a grey lady for the military hospital, a volunteer at the Republican Women's Club, and being a member of the Officer's Wives Club. She was also a long time member of Kempsville Baptist Church. She was a loving mother and wife, was articulate and she always showed proper etiquette. Carol is survived by her daughter, Sheryl Gessner; six grandchildren, Jerry Gessner, Julia Warren, Angela Ness, Stephen Holly, Ryan Holly, and Megan Holly; six great-grandchildren, Sarah Gessner, McKinsey Warren, Phillip Warren, Carolyn Ness, McKenzie Holly, and Skyler Holly. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Diana Holly and her husband, CDR Stephen P. Lantz, USN (Ret.) A memorial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wed. Jan. 24, 2018 at Rosewood Kellum Funeral Home, with Rabbi Joseph Rosenfarb officiating. Inurnment will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
