
Cary P. Quincy Jr., 94, peacefully departed this life on August 20, 2013. He grew up in Chapanoke, NC and after graduation from Fork Union Military Academy joined the United States Navy. He proudly served for 20 years in naval aviation, retiring as a Chief Petty Officer. Upon retirement, he became a successful insurance agent. During the Vietnam conflict, he was an instructor at Fort Eustis, teaching basic helicopter engine operations. A charter member of Baylake United Methodist Church, he faithfully served as president of the Adult Sunday School Class and was an usher for over 40 years.
He was predeceased by his loving wife of 59 years, Miriam and his parents Cary P. Quincy Sr. and Lucille.
He is survived by sister Janet Brewer and her husband Bob of Tallahassee, FL, a daughter Ava Plemmons and husband Michael, a son Cary P. Quincy III, and wife Lynn of Virginia Beach. Also left to cherish his memory are granddaughters Renee Bunch and her husband Tommy of Pulaski, VA, Carey Bough and husband Eric of South Mills, NC and Jamie Quincy of Virginia Beach and great-granddaughters Sarah and Hannah Bunch.
A special thanks to the fine staff at Marian Manor, Abbey Featherer, Lisa Baynagos and HOSPICE who provided wonderful support and care during the past several years. A memorial service will be held at Baylake United Methodist Church on Wednesday, August 28, 2013 at 11:30am.
