Mr. Markham was born in Weaksville, North Carolina to the late Charles Basil Markham and Clara Bell Markham. He was preceded in death by his son Charles Forrest Markham, Jr and a sister Vera Parker and two brothers Roy Markham and William Billy Markham.
Mr. Markham was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in the Korean Conflict. He also served as a Chief Clerk for Norfolk Southern for forty-four years and retired from the Chesapeake Public School System for twenty years. He served as a Little League Football and Baseball Coach at Indian River High School for more than forty years.
Survivors include his loving wife of sixty-seven years Marion Best Markham; two daughters Kimberly Share (Kenneth); Kristi Dee Lambert (Joel); two granddaughters Joy Lambert (Golriz) and Glory Lambert and one sister Faye Ann Dickson.
Graveside services will be private at Rosewood Memorial Park.
