

H. David McDonald, 67, departed his earthly life on January 24, 2011 and entered into eternal life with his heavenly Father. He was born May 25,1943 in Rochester NY, son of the late Hugh and Arlene McDonald. Upon graduation from St. John Fisher College, he started a career with Eastman Kodak. He rose through the ranks and ended his 29 year tenure there as Department Head of the Copy Products Division. David then embarked on a second career as a Management Consultant with The Thomas Group. During his 6 years of working there, he traveled all over the United States, Asia, and Africa.
David was a fan of all sports, but his passions were basketball, baseball, and football, and he coached a number of work and community teams. He was an avid reader, and loved playing bridge. However, David's greatest joy came from being a loving husband and devoted father.
Left to cherish his memory is his beloved wife of 37 years, Iris McDonald; his beautiful daughters Kristin Hauser and husband Daniel, and Allison Fredericks and husband Bradley; siblings Robert, Margaret, Ronald, Mary, Dan, Patricia, and Elizabeth; and numerous other loving relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his brother Steven and his sister Judith.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, January 31, 2011 at 11:00 am at Rosewood-Kellum Funeral Home, 601 N. Witchduck Road, Virginia Beach, VA, with a reception to follow. Inurnment will take place at Rosewood Memorial Park. Arrangements are being made for an additional memorial service in Rochester, NY, at a date to be detemined.
For the past 14 months, David has been a resident of Our Lady of Perpetual Help. The family would like to thank everyone there for all of the love and kindness that was shown to David and his family during his stay.
