On the morning of 28 April 2020 Delia Moya Mireles a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother passed through the gates of heaven to join God peacefully in the presence of her immediate loving family. Delia was born and raised in San Antonio, TX, the product of a hard working family from a modest farming home. She lived a life of love, compassion, strength, and is the foundation for a close knit family that was constantly reminded that “blood is thicker than water". She will forever be known for her short yet strong stature and her true love for friends and family. During her life she was a devout Catholic, a member of the Holy Apostles Church, a Navy Ombudsman, a Red Hat Society Member, participated in the Virginia Beach Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) Auxiliary as President, a Girl Scout Leader, a mentor, a leader, a role model, an inspiration, a fireball, a caregiver, and everything you would want in a wife, mother, or friend.
Delia is preceded in death by her mother Francisca Moya, her father Jose Moya, her brothers Joe Richard Moya, Delfino Moya, her sister Herma-Linda Moya, her granddaughter Sadie Taylor Mireles, and her best friend Ronnie Reutzel all of whom have welcomed her into the gates of Heaven.
Delia is survived by her faithful and loving husband Raymond Mireles of 56 years, her children Delia Hartman, Deborah Mereno, Raymond Mireles Jr., Reynaldo Mireles, and Raul Mireles. Her son-in-laws Eric Hartman and Timothy Mereno, her daughter-in-laws Jaime Mireles, Chaunta Mireles, and Christina Mireles respectively. She is also survived by her brother Marcelo Moya, her sisters Diana Cortes, Yolanda Mireles, 16 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
Until we meet again, you will always be cherished, loved and always in our hearts.
