Diane Marie Smith

Diane M. Smith of Princess Anne County, to the late Sidney and Catherine Harrison.

Just as the sun sets in God’s perfect timing, so does every soul return to him. A time to go home: January 19, 2026.

The faith of God was instilled in Diane at a young age. When she joined Mount Bethel Baptist Church. There she served as an Usher and the President of the Youth Usher Board. Years later Diane became an active member of Piney Grove Baptist Church, faithfully participating in Sunday School, Missionary Ministry and Joy Ministry.

She was preceded in death by her sister Esther Smith; brothers Allen and Percy Harrison; grandson Terrel Smith IV.

Left to cherish fond memories are her children: one daughter, Yvondre L. Credle, Portsmouth Va; three sons, Terrel A Smith, Nelson D. Smith, Jovan C. Smith, all of Virginia Beach, Va.; grandchildren, Sincere, Beau, Olivia, Taniya, and Syasia. Along with 6 great - grandchildren.

Along with her siblings to cherish those fond memories as well, 2 loving sisters, Edith McPherson (Simon) and Shirley Wilson; 3 devoted brothers Clinton (Tiny) Harrison, Thaddeus (Leroy) Harrison, and Sidney Harrison, and a very special sister in love: Olivia Harrison.

Diane’s love knew no bounds and she raised Shirley Smith Kennedy and Shawn Smith as her own, giving them a lifetime of care and devotion.

Diane will be deeply missed by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and especially by her best friend Doris Hopkins, whose bond was like family.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, February 6, 2026, 10:00 am at Rosewood-Kellum Funeral Home, located at 601 N Witchduck Rd, Virginia Beach, Virginia, 23462. A reception will follow in the reception room at Rosewood-Kellum.
