Edith Ann Smith

Edith Ann (McKenna) Smith passed away peacefully on June 28, 2013 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s. She was born on December 5, 1938 in Newark, NJ the daughter of the late Paul S. McKenna and Josephine (Murphy) McKenna. Edith grew up in Newark and Madison, NJ. She was a 1957 graduate of Bayley Ellard High School in Madison. Edith lived in Madison and then in Chatham, NJ until retiring to Sun City West, AZ and more recently of Virginia Beach, VA. Edith is preceded in death by her husband, Paul, and her brothers, Paul and Robert McKenna.

She is survived by her children Paul Jr. (Judi) of Quarryville, PA; Linda Fahey (Stephen) of Virginia Beach; Maureen Stearn (Al) of Lake Hopatcong, NJ; Richard of El Cajon, CA; six grandchildren and three siblings. Edith’s love for travel was surpassed only by the wonderful times spent with her grandchildren.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, July 7th from 5:00 - 7:30 pm at Rosewood Kellum Funeral Home, 601 N. Witchduck Rd., Virginia Beach, VA.

A funeral Mass will be held on Monday, July 8th at 11:00 am with visitation one hour prior at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 1396 Lynnhaven Pkwy, Virginia Beach. Burial will follow at Rosewood Memorial Park.
