Erma was born in Richmond, Virginia, daughter to William Archie Tillery and Annie Jane Capps.
She was a proud graduate of Granby High School in the fall of 1950. She worked at several office positions with Bell Telephone, Girl Scouts of America, the American Red Cross and the United States Post Office in Norfolk, Virginia, Sears, Roebuck & Co. and Wichita Linen in Wichita Falls, Texas
Erma is survived by her son, Herbert "Bert" L. Green and wife, Jane Beth of Florida; daughter, Vickie M. Foster and husband, Edward "Joe" W. Few, III; grandson, John H. Foster and his wife, Hope; great-granddaughters, Grace E. Foster and Lucy R. Foster of Virginia Beach and several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
She is predeceased by her GRADE school boyfriend and the love of her life, Herbert Lee Green, Sr. They were married for 71 years. They spent their time travelling around the world while Herbert served proudly for 21 years in the United States Air Force. She is also predeceased by her brothers, William Leonard Tillery and Kenneth Warren Tillery and sisters, Neda Ann Tillery Fraser and Gertrude Elizabeth Tillery.
Erma was a born-again Christian Believer and a member of the Virginia Beach Community Chapel.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, September 14, 2021 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Rosewood-Kellum Funeral Home in Virginia Beach with entombment to follow at Rosewood Memorial Park.
