Florence C Ellis

Florence Creech Ellis passed away on June 18, 2015 with her loving family by her side. Florence was the daughter of the late Jim and Carrie Bell Creech, from Olar, South Carolina. Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband of 63 years, Alvin S Ellis, Sr; their three children Al Ellis (Sherry), Shirley Murphy, Jeanette Ellis Whitehurst, grandchildren Chris Ellis (Abby); Lynn Peek (Jon); Catherine Tippett (Jeff); Jamie Murphy (Pam); Jason Murphy; Megan Whitehurst and Carrie Ellis and Great Grandchildren, Elizabeth, Nathan, Aiden, Savannah, Andrew, Camden, Lauren, Barrett, Hannah, Bryce, Emma and Josh. Her sister Martha Carroll of Barnwell, South Carolina and a sister-in-law Karen Ellis of Virginia Beach as well as numerous nieces and nephews and extended family also survived by her best friend Sammy. Florence was a member of First Baptist Church Norfolk, she loved the Lord and enjoyed being with all of her church family. She will be truly missed by all.

A Family visitation will be held at Rosewood-Kellum Funeral Home on N. Witchduck Road, Virginia Beach. Family will receive friend’s 6-8pm on Sunday. Funeral Services will be held 10am on Monday at the Chapel of Rosewood-Kellum Funeral Home. The Reverend Jamie Murphy and Chris Ellis, Grandson’s of Florence, will conduct the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that contributions be sent to Oak Grove Baptist Church located at 691 Princess Anne Rd., Virginia Beach, VA 23457, for the New Building Fund, or Kempsville Volunteer Rescue Squad in memory of Florence.
