Virginia Beach – Gerald D. Burris, 70, went to be with the Lord on March 10, 2011. He had proudly served in the U. S. Army for 22 years and retired as SFC. He was a deacon and elder at Lynnhaven Presbyterian Church.
Mr. Burris is survived by his wife of 46 wonderful years, Carol; his sons Brian and wife Shannon of Gloucester, VA and Chris and wife Betsy of Virginia Beach; his grandchildren, Caitlyn, Chase, Samantha, Scotty, and Alexandra; his loving mother-in-law, Evelyn Waters; sisters, Sandy Steed and husband Tom of St. Augustine, FL and Barbara Salyers of Gainesville, FL; half-sister, Vicky Petersen of London, OH; and sisters-in-law, Joan Smith of Trenton, FL and Bonnie Conway of Virginia Beach.
A service will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, March 14, 2010 at Rosewood Kellum Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 pm on Sunday at the funeral home.
