Gerard Louis Allard

Gerard "Jerry" Louis Allard Sr., 78, of Virginia Beach went home to be with our Lord on October 22, 2018. Jerry was born in Fall River, Massachusetts to the late Arthur and Exelia Beaureguard Allard. He was a Vietnam War Veteran and retired as an SFC from the US Army in 1984 with 21 years of honorable service. Jerry was a member of the Holy Spirit Catholic Church, the Sunshine Club, and also retired as a heavy equipment mechanic for Contractor Paving and Car Quest.

He was preceded in death by his son Gerard "Jerry" Allard Jr; brothers Paul, Henry, Albert, George; sisters, Eva, Delia, Anita, Exelia.

Left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife of 54 years, Kathleen "Kathy" (Donald) Allard; daughters, Eva Marie Adams (Steven) and Marcy Ann Yocom (John); brother, Rene Allard; 4 granddaughters, Amanda Nicole (Heiden) Deiss and her husband Kenny, Patricia Rene Adams (Jeff), Helen Rose Adams, and Victoria Elizabeth Yocom; two great-granddaughters, Raleigh Aurora Adams and Lillian Nicole Deiss; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members, "adopted" children, Richard "Skivy" Scavone, Autumn Leard Moore, Maria Wright, Kaitlin (Simmers) Benbenek, Ileen Gonzalez, Yoyo Howard, Jessa Layao and many friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00 noon on Monday, November 5, 2018 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 1396 Lynnhaven Parkway, Virginia Beach . In lieu of flowers please consider donating to the Plaza Volunteer Rescue Squard of Virginia Beach, 3610 S. Plaza Trail, Virginia Beach, VA 23452, reference Marcy Yocom's father. The family would like to acknowledge and thank Michelle, Francine, and Susan with Kindred Home Health Care for the years of OT and PT and their loving care and support. Also, the wonderful doctors, nurses, and NCP's that provided exceptional care for him and for us during his stay at Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital.
