Glenn was born in the town of Urdaneta Pangasinan in the Philippines. His mother, the late Virginia R. Rafanan, brought him and his sister to the United States. Becoming a US citizen, he showed gratefulness by participating in and all it had to offer.
Glenn and his siblings Arleen Grace, Vincent Anthony (Doris Poulos) and Christopher(Jessica Rafanan) loved playing in neighborhood parks and their backyard with friends that have lasted a lifetime.
Glenn’s father, Antonio P. Rafanan, a 30 year military veteran, would take the family on board aircraft carriers and the Blue Angels exhibitions, which Glenn loved tremendously.
Glenn learned the importance of dedication and service from his parents at a very early age. School records have shown he only missed at the most two days during the school year. He learned many values as a Boy Scout. These valuable lessons and behavior continued throughout his work career.
Glenn loved music all his life. His first instrument was the violin then the guitar. His family once attended his violin recital when his younger brother shouted Glenn’s name loudly. It added to an auditorium filled laughter which helped relax the student musicians resulting in a beautiful concert.
Glenn also loved sports, participating in many school teams. He suited up as a Viking running back while in grade school. Other sports of interest were wrestling, archery and golf. He did his best to attend as many sports events possible, including the Olympics.
Glenn had many interests and talents resulting from education at Ohio State University, Old Dominion University then graduating at Christopher Newport University with a BS in Business Administration.
His love for Information Technology led him to a successful career with Gateway Inc., Bestbuy IT Department and Target Corporation.
Many of Glenn’s co-workers at Target shared that he brought laughter and enjoyment to work. He truly was a team player and always offered support to them.
Glenn Michael Rafanan’s Memorial Service will be on Friday 13, 2025 at 10:00 am at Rosewood-Kellum Funeral Home, 601 N Witchduck Rd, Virginia Beach, Virginia 23462.
