Helen W. Walters Meadows

Helen W. Meadows, 79, went to be with the Lord on October 21, 2010. She was born on October 9, 1931 in Richmond, VA the daughter of the late Walter A. and Anna L. Walters. Helen grew up in Rocky Mount NC before coming back to Virginia. She received her Undergraduate Degree in Teaching from East Carolina University and her Masters Degree from William and Mary College and taught school from 1953 – 1983 retiring with 30 years of service. Helen was a member of Lynnhaven U.M.C., enjoyed collecting stamps and worked with the brail association helping to put together bibles to be sent all over the world. She was preceded in death by her son, Michael Steven Meadows, sister, Kathleen Franklin, daughter-in-law, Kristine Meadows and son-in-law, Jeff Keezel. Helen was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend who will be deeply missed by all.

Left to cherish her memory is her beloved husband of 55 years, Marvin Meadows of Virginia Beach; son, William David Meadows and wife Margaret of Williamsburg; daughter, Teresa Ann Keezel of Richmond and beloved grandchildren, Rebecca and Nathaniel Keezel and Benjamin and Matthew Meadows and numerous friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, October 25, 2010 in Lynnhaven U.M.C., 1033 Little Neck Road, Virginia Beach, VA 23452. The family has requested in lieu of flowers memorial donations be made to the Union Mission, 130 Brooke Avenue, Norfolk, VA 23510.
