Jack W. Steele

Jack W. Steele, 75, went to be with his Lord on November 3, 2015 while vacationing in Jamaica. He was born on October 10, 1940 to the late Oscar and Maxine Steele in Huntington, West Virginia. Jack attended Florida State University, the University of Alabama and served in the U. S. Air Force. He then began a long career in retail management of a major national firm. Upon his retirement, Jack entered into a successful real estate career with Coldwell Banker Professional Realtors and received many top sales recognitions. His interest included gardening, boating, motorsports, traveling, and volunteer work including the Judeo Christian Ministry and the Eastern Shore Migrant Mission. Jack was also a member of the Jaycees. Jack’s most cherished time was spent with his family, and especially enjoyed the Holidays. Jack was ordained as a deacon in 1972 and remained an active deacon in several churches including Thalia Lynn Baptist Church (1980-2005) and currently at Bayside Baptist Church.

He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Patricia Ann Steele; sons Mike Steele and his wife Saundra, Patrick Steele and his wife Dawn; grandchildren Glen Miller and Ruby Lynn Steele; brother James O. Steele; and numerous nieces and nephews. Jack was also blessed with many lifelong friends and acquaintances.

The family will receive guests on Friday, November 13, 2015 from 5-8 pm at Rosewood Kellum Funeral Home, 601 N. Witchduck Rd., Virginia Beach, VA 23462

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, November 14, 2015 at 11 am at Bayside Baptist Church, 1920 Pleasure House Rd., Virginia Beach, VA 23455. A private family burial will be held at Rosewood Memorial park.

Memorial donations may be made to Bayside Baptist Church’s Building Fund.
