James Arthur Guillot, 88, passed away on December 26, 2020. He was born in Norfolk, VA to the late Frank and Olive Guillot. At age 17 he joined the Marine Corps Reserves and went into active duty during the Korean War; he stayed in the Reserves for a total of 43 years. James was an active lifetime member of the Marine Corp League. He also worked as a Planner/Estimator at NARF for 30 plus years. James was strong, boisterous, patriotic, generous and loyal. He loved his family and loved spending time with them, especially his great-grandchildren. Every day he went to the YMCA to work out and to socialize with his friends. He will be greatly missed. James was predeceased by his loving wife of 49 years, Shirley Guillot; son Edward Bustamante; brother, William Guillot; sisters, Emily Waterfield and Helen Mason.
Left to cherish his memory are 3 daughters, Karen Guillot, Elaina Siegel (Mike), and Paula Phelps (Wayne); 2 brothers George Guillot and Rusty Ball (Libby); 5 grandchildren, Ian, Naomi, Ashley, Michael and Stephen; and 6 great grandchildren, Hannah, Shawn, Matthew, Grace, Nick, and Mikie.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, January 4, 2020, at Rosewood-Kellum Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Rosewood Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation may be made payable to John A. LeJeune Detachment for the Marine Corps League Scholarship Fund.
