Earl (Jim) Lawrence, 80, of Coinjock, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on August 8, 2025. Born on June 22, 1945, Earl lived a full and meaningful life, guided by service, hard work, and deep love for his family.
He proudly served his country in the United States Navy for 22 years, dedicating himself to duty both at home and abroad. After retiring from the Navy, Earl found joy in a new passion—repairing CB radios. His skill and patience in the workshop became well-known in the community, and his knack for fixing what others thought was beyond repair mirrored his quiet determination in life.
Above all, Earl was a devoted family man. He was the proud father of three daughters—Tina Bell, Kimberly Lawrence, and Tammy Bennett. He is survived by eight grandchildren, Leslie Bell, Patrick Bell, Jason Bell, Tanya Coursey, Wade Leary, Ernie Grant III, Samantha Williams and Matthew Grant; nine great-grandchildren, Zachary Paul, Colton Wetherington, Naomi Coursey, Caroline Coursey, Aleena Grant, Bailey Grant, Hunter Williams, Natalia Williams and Joseph Williams. He is also survived by two sisters, Mary Lynch and Joanna Parrish; and a brother, Walter Lawrence.
He will be remembered for his steady presence, warm laugh and the kindness he shared with all who knew him. His legacy of love and resilience will continue to inspire his family and friends. In keeping with his wishes, there will be no service or viewing.
