James was born January 21, 1944 in Norfolk, Virginia. He was preceded in death by his parents James R. Whitmore Sr. and Inez Clark Whitmore.
Mr. Whitmore retired as a Regional Property Manager for the United States Department of Commerce Eastern Region.
Survivors include his loving wife June A. Lankford and his brother Michael A. Whitmore; and two nephews Michael and Daniel Whitmore.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, April 1, 2022, 2:00 p.m. at Rosewood Memorial Park.
